The Bigger Printing Company has helped national high-end retailer John Lewis announce the opening date of the one their newest flagship locations, Cheltenham.
Last week, Bigger Printing produced a series of highly impactful story-board hoarding panels which have been erected to the perimeter of the construction site as work continues to prepare the store ahead of its opening on October 18th 2018.
The new 115,000sq ft shop represents a £23million investment in Cheltenham by the national retailer, and will open on the High Street at the former Beechwood Shopping Centre site. About 300 jobs will be created by John Lewis ahead of its opening in Cheltenham this autumn.
As well as the construction work for the new store currently taking place, work has also commenced on improving the pavement in the High Street in an area including outside the new store. This forms part of a £725,000 scheme by Cheltenham Borough Council to improve the public realm of the street, close to the new store.
The story-board hoarding panels have been designed by the highly creative Cheltenham agency Art Development. Each panel has been hand drawn, scanned, and then digitally coloured before being printed. The panels have been designed to be re-used in smaller areas once the main perimeter of the construction site is removed, allowing John Lewis to get maximum use out of the prints before the store opens in October. The panels have been finished with a protective gloss seal, which provides further protection from the elements, and other potential damage including graffiti.
