As a passionate admirer of great design, The Bigger Printing Company was thrilled to support the 2014 Cheltenham Design Festival. The festival was held at the Cheltenham Ladies’ College Parabola Arts Centre. This year’s line-up included some of the country’s most exciting creative minds who provided a valuable insight into their fields.
As a supporter of the festival, Bigger Printing supplied all of the large format print including external and internal PVC banners, the stage backdrop, and exhibition display graphics. The large format displays were all produced at Bigger Printing, and were been designed to be portable so the event organisers could manoeuvre the displays as required throughout the festival. Outdoor posters were printed on correx as correx is a lightweight, waterproof material that is well suited to large outdoor print displays. Internal large displays were printed a varying thicknesses of foamex boards to produce rigid free-standing displays around the festival. Windows displays were printed onto clear vinyl and applied to the windows directly, allowing sunlight to act as a light source similar to a backlit display.
The festival was a mixture of hands-on workshops and talks by some of the most creative authorities within the design industry, such as D&AD President Laura Jordan Bambach who gave a talk on building meaningful brands, and Jack Schulze who gave a talk on how to navigate the landscape of digital technology.
The whole festival was undoubtedly a success, with large numbers visiting each day, interacting with authorities in various avenues of design, as well as being inspired by some of the work on show throughout the festival.
