Yesterday, The Bigger Printing attended the Imjin Music Festival 2016, along with a sell-out crowd of 5000 to help celebrate Her Majesty the Queen’s 90th Birthday.
Innsworth Station and the Allied Rapid Reaction Corps invited the Gloucestershire community to attend the music festival at the historic Imjin Barracks as part of Her Majesty the Queen’s birthday celebrations.
Opening at 4:30pm, the festival featured a strong line-up of music including world famous ‘Bootleg Beatles’, Military aerial displays including the Spitfire, Hawker Hurricane, Chinooks and an Apache helicopter flypast.
The festival also acted as the penultimate destination for the giant birthday card Bigger Printing produced for Her Majesty the Queen. Back in April, Louise Bruce of Big Red Box PR approached Bigger Printing with the idea of producing a giant birthday card which would be durable enough to travel around the county with the Allied Rapid Reaction Corps over the forthcoming months being signed by 100s of people. Invitees to sign the card included MPs, Majors and other well-known individuals from the county.
Before the card was printed, children from local schools were invited to submit front cover designs for the card. After the finalists were chosen by Imjin Barracks, Bigger Printing was asked to arrange the submitted artwork, and finalise the design before production commenced. In order for the card to be lightweight but robust, the design of the card was printed onto 5mm Smart-X material. Each half of the card measured over 2.2 metres tall by 1.3 metres wide, and held together with spinetape.
As the card travelled around the county being signed, it featured heavily on social media with regular updates showing the card in being signed in various locations around the county, building interest ahead of the music festival.
Following the success of the 2016 Imjin Music Festival, plans are already underway to make next year’s event even bigger and better.
Bigger Printing would like to thank Louise from Big Red Box PR for her assistance with the birthday card, and the photographers for the Allied Rapid Reaction Corps for providing photographs.
