Congratulations to Mike who has recently passed his PASMA (Prefabricated Access Suppliers and Manufacturers’ Association) safety course in Mobile Access Towers.
Mobile access towers are used on the larger installs that The Bigger Printing Company carry out, when displays are installed at great heights and / or when access is limited. Health and safety is paramount in all aspects of Bigger Printing’s actions and projects undertaken, and as such, it is easential that team members of The Bigger Printing Company have the appropriate training to ensure their safety.
As part of the course, Mike underwent both theory and practical assessments for assembling, dismantling, alteration, moving and inspecting mobile access towers in order to obtain his PASMA Certificate.
The theory side of the course content focused on the legislation, regulations and guidance affecting working at height, as well as the PASMA Code of Practice and EN 1004:2004 Product Standards.
The practical content of the course focused on assembling, altering and dismantling the towers whilst incorporating current best practice for fall prevention. Finally, hazards affecting the use of mobile access towers and how to avoid them completed the practical content of the course. The practical content of the course was undertaken both indoor and outdoor.
Commenting after completing the course, Mike said “It was a really interesting day, quite full on which it needs to be. It’s vital that I understand how to build, dismantle and inspect the towers correctly to ensure not only my safety, but those in the surrounding areas. Health and safety is always important, but there is no room for error when working at height so going on this course is vital for my involvement in projects that involve working at height.”
