The Bigger Printing Company has continued its strong relationship with Stagecoach by supplying the graphics for the new fleet of buses that have recently been launched in the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley areas. The new fleet of 10 buses had their official launch at Beechenhurst Lodge in the Forest of Dean on Wednesday 29th May 2013, and they have been taken into service immediately. The new fleet will strengthen the existing services between Hereford, Ross-on-Wye, Gloucester, Coleford, Cinderford and Lydney.
Each bus required a variety of internal and external vinyl to advertise the destinations, ticket offers, health and safety messages, as well as Stagecoach’s own branding. As with the luxury Gold bus fleet, every bus required a mixture of cast vinyl and high quality printed grey-back vinyl to complete the project. Every element was shape-cut by our digital contour cutter before being applied to the buses to ensure consistency was kept throughout the fleet.
Sebastian Stanley, Director of Bigger Printing added “We were very excited when Stagecoach approached us asking for our involvement in the launch of their latest fleet of buses. We really enjoyed being involved in the launch of the luxury Gold buses back in December 2012, and this project had some elements which were similar, as well as providing some new challenges.
The Dean and Wye buses have very large graphic panels on both sides that required vinyl prints showing ‘a flavour’ of the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley. We were a little bold in our choice to print and install these large graphics in as few pieces as possible to ensure the graphics flowed smoothly along the buses. The ‘T’ panel graphics on the driver’s side was printed in just two sections, and the long graphic along the opposite side was printed in just one piece. By having as few joins in the graphics as possible, the design is able to make maximum impact.
During the launch, it was a very proud moment for me to be photographed with the distinguished guests and Stagecoach management team. The venue for the launch was excellent and a very fitting location for this new fleet."
