The start of the academical year is a busy time for any university, and ahead of the 2017 Fresher’s arriving at the University of West London Students’ Union, the union contacted The Bigger Printing Company to assist with a print large project, with a short turn-around.
As the St. Marys Road campus car park is currently having some construction work undertaken, a section of the car park is cordoned off, and the university required impactful hoarding to both welcome the new students to the campus, and shield off the construction site.
After a strong recommendation, the University of West London Students’ Union approached Bigger Printing for their assistance.
The project needed to be produced and installed within two weeks, ahead of the Fresher’s arriving on site. As the car park is busy enough on a normal day, all construction and installation work on the hoarding needed to be completed before the 3,000 students arrived on site in order to provide the students with a strong ‘welcome message’, and avoid any obvious health and safety concerns.
Following an initial site survey, Bigger Printing produced just over 45 metres of hoarding panels, using Alupanel. Bigger Printing is proud to be one of the first officially recognised Alupanel Product Partners which is manufactured in the UK by leading industry manufacturer, Multipanel UK. This Product Partnership is a stamp of approval from Multipanel UK, and recognises the high level of print quality and service Bigger Printing supplies.
Each of the individual hoarding panels stand at over 2 metres high in order to shield off the construction site from view, and were finished with an anti-graffiti seal to provide extra protection from both the elements, and any other potential damage.
Commenting on the project, Student Activities and Participation Manager at University of West London Students' Union, Charlie Benson said “Bigger Printing managed to turn around a huge project to a very high standard in a very short timeframe. They were great to work with took the challenge on headfirst. ”
The finished result is a highly impactful, weatherproof, anti-graffiti hoarding display which successfully hides the construction work being carried out, as well as providing a very vibrant welcome to the students visiting the campus.
