The Bigger Printing Company provided the event graphics for the sports conference ‘Girls Go Gold’ held at The Cheltenham Ladies’ College on Wednesday 18th September 2013. More than 400 pupils and teachers from across the South of England attended the sports conference, which included addresses from members of British Cycling, Team GB Hockey bronze medallist Chloe Rogers, sports nutritionist Anita Bean and Britain’s four-time World Ironman Champion Chrissie Wellington.

The event graphics consisted of 3.4m high feather flags which were positioned at the main entrance of the college; a 4.5m wide PVC banner and a 2.7m tall Twist stand which were positioned inside the college to re-enforce the day’s message.

Bigger Printing created the print-ready artwork for each graphic from a detailed brief supplied by the college before the project commenced. When designing the graphics, it was important that the aesthetic was consistent throughout, that the college’s brand was clearly represented, and that the designs did not distract any attention away from speakers on stage.

The PVC banner was positioned on a bespoke curved balcony - potentially a difficult location to ensure a banner would hang evenly. In order to ensure that the banner would hang as desired, a cord was placed into the top and bottom hem of the banner and this was used to pull the banner tight. Eyelets and cord were also used to aid tension in the opposite direction, guaranteeing the banner had appropriate tension along the curved balcony.

The Twist stand was designed to be used together as one unit, or individually as separate panels depending on the day’s requirements. This provided the college with more variety on the day, and at future events.

Claire Brocklehurst, Marketing and Communications Manager of The Cheltenham Ladies' College commented “We were very impressed by the service we received from The Bigger Printing Co. They were always helpful and accommodated our needs at every turn, providing samples and mock-ups whenever we requested. When it came to delivery, the banners we ordered arrived on time and were up to the standard we had expected. We wouldn’t hesitate to use them again in future.
