Ahead of the aviation exhibition season, Gloucestershire Airport approached The Bigger Printing Company to design and produce a new exhibition stand for them. This new stand would need to provide enough impact to allow Gloucestershire Airport to compete with larger commercial airports, whilst also being easily transported to different exhibitions.
Following an initial discussion on what the stand needed to provide, and how it would be used, the airport chose to use the Twist system as the basis for their stand. The Twist system is a modular structure; therefore its size can be increased or reduced, thus providing the airport with great flexibility.
As the airport has recently undergone an extensive re-brand, created by the Isaac Partnership, Bigger Printing had a new logo as the starting point for the design, along with an initial brief from the airport’s Directors. The finished design of the stand complements the modular nature of the Twist hardware, allowing the stand to be built and displayed in a number of configurations, from exhibition to exhibition.
In addition to the Twist stand, Bigger Printing also designed and produced two Exhibition Towers for the airport to display on the stand. One tower remains erect for the duration of an exhibition, showcasing a range of eye-catching imagery of the airport and the aircraft that operate out of it. The other tower is used as a timed challenge to help entice visitors the stand. In addition to the two towers, Bigger Printing also provided a free-standing leader board with magnetic name strips to display who was currently in the lead, similar to the ‘Top Gear’ leader board.
The first exhibition Gloucestershire Airport attended with the new stand was the 2016 European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE). EBACE is the premier event and annual meeting place for the European Business Aviation community. This year’s event was held between the 24th to the 26th May 2016 at Geneva’s Palexpo convention centre. EBACE brings together business leaders, government officials, manufacturers, flight department personnel and all manner of people involved in nearly every aspect of business aviation.
The next exhibition the Gloucestershire Airport attended was AeroExpo UK 2016, which brings together the best of the General Aviation industry over three days at Sywell Aerodrome in Northamptonshire. This year’s event was held between the 1st and the 3rd July 2016. With over 12,000 visitors, a range of air shows, and more than 170 international exhibitors, it’s an important exhibition for Gloucestershire Airport to be at, and making an impact.
Speaking after the exhibitions, Clare Shepherd, Landside Operations and Security Manger said "The Bigger Printing Company provided us with excellent ideas and support throughout the whole process and exceeded our expectations in providing us with a high impact stand that showcases exactly what we at Gloucestershire Airport stand for."
