The Frogmill is an intimate hotel in the heart of The Cotswolds - based just 6 miles outside of Cheltenham.

The hotel changed hands at the beginning of December 2010, when it joined the prestigious chain of Bespoke Hotels. And like many changeovers, new management brought about a review of hotel practices and the decision to update the hotel.

The hotel manager’s aim was to take it from ‘airport lounge’ to Cotswold Inn, complete with cosy but plush furnishings. To support the change, the hotel needed a full rebrand of promotional materials, from building signs through to guest cards and leaflets. So they immediately brought on board a local design agency, along with large format printers The Bigger Printing Company, who had pulled all the stops out to produce a banner for The Frogmill during the 2011 big freeze.

Branding that works

Bigger Printing worked with the design agency to produce new signage in record time; with everything designed, printed and installed in just 3 weeks. So impressed were the management team that they tasked Bigger Printing with the design and print of all their rebranded materials, including bill presenters and leaflets and a full set of building signs.

The signage incorporated two large road signs, a gable end sign, 2 driveway signs and a swinging sign; all designed to be durable and ‘on brand’. Bigger Printing also designed a signature waterwheel that is used on all the Frogmill’s marketing materials and is now a key element of their brand.

The end result is an attractive but modern brand that’s in keeping with the refurbished hotel and far removed from the corporate style that the hotel desperately needed to escape.
